In 1994 I started the artrecycle project, my then art professor, Peter Redeker, gave me a good 100 original etchings on handmade paper for this art project. Since then I have used the etchings individually in collages and objects. 2020, maybe it was the Corona period in my studio that moved me to work on the remaining etchings artistically. When editing, I came very close to the etchings with predominantly landscape motifs. Redeker’s view of nature in the etchings is quiet, admiring, not glorifying. For me, these landscapes became more melancholic from picture to picture. I quickly decided to collage and graphically treat the etchings. I was the actor when working on a wide variety of material worlds, but moderation was carried out by the etchings, which resulted in an artistic dialogue.

A look through a keyhole shows us a view behind a locked door or a glimpse into a room. It is possible to look in or out in both directions. This keyhole is a gateway to other spaces. Art is this keyhole, especially in difficult times, it creates a passage for a ray of light, a symbol of hope that will open doors.

BoraiMy works tell short stories. As a medium, I prefer paper from daily newspapers. The information and illustrations in the newspapers provide me with the background for my artistic work. For the visual design my motivation grows from the change of the given, with the necessary resulting artistic stylistic means. This procedure can be referred to as a "crossover". A method of conscious and unconscious work steps that leads directly to the necessary image statement, the image content. I would like to describe my work process with the result as - the awakening of the dream, remembering the future. I love the lightness of paper, my favorite material for painting, collage and sculpture. Modern Art presented directly from the art studio or from the vast collection from Ahmed Borais art pool - narrtive painting, narrative sculpture, paperwork, fotocollage and more artworks here on this page. There is an own Shopservice with recommendations. The artworks here can also be purchased on artportals such as SaatchiArt or Singulart.
